Chapter 6

HOLIDAY CHEER

THREE SOFT INTAKES OF BREATH sound through the air the moment I step from the walk-in closet. I smile and adjust the long skirt of my deep red gown that matches perfectly with the ruby bracelet I found tucked among my belongings.

“You were right,” Austin says, elbowing Kingston.

“Ravishing in red,” he responds, smiling at me. “Perfect.”

Diego leans in closer to his brothers and whispers, “Also perfect for when she ravages me later. I don’t know why you don’t ask her to bite back. Fucking hot as hell.”

I place my hands on my hips and raise my eyebrows. The three of them laugh. Austin and Diego bump fists, and Kingston flashes his fangs at me in a wide smile, sending warmth flushing across my skin at the memory of our time together.

“You know I can hear you all whispering, right?” I say, stepping forward. “And Diego, what happened to not giving details?”

“It only applies to asking you, and you’re supposed to give us some pretend privacy, babe,” Kingston says.

Diego crosses the room and opens his arms for me. “Sorry, beautiful. I won’t do it again.”

I rest my head to his chest for a moment. “It’s fine as long as you all don’t start fighting.”

“You don’t have to worry about that with me,” Kingston says. “Those blunt, bitey teeth of yours can stick to Diego.”

Austin comes up behind me and rests his chin to my shoulder. “Maybe me too if you want.”

OhmyeffingGod. My body shudders at his whispered words, reacting beyond my control at the memory of our intimate moment of exploring our nutrients match. I suck in a small breath, closing my eyes. “Ah hell,” I murmur, trying to get my body to control itself.

Kingston groans. “Damn it. What did you say to her? I need her to react to me like that.”

I lick my lips. “Don’t even, Austin.”

He chuckles and slides his fingers into my hair to push it out of the way from my back. He kisses the nape of my neck. “Wasn’t going to. I don’t have the urge to brag like my brothers. I like to keep our amazing moments to myself.”

A smile creeps across my face, and I spin in his arms to face him.

“Damn it,” Kingston repeats. “Austin, we’re in this together.”

I wag my finger behind me to get Kingston to stop. “Sometimes it’s okay to keep things apart. I love what I have with each of you, dude.”

“But I want what they have,” he complains.

Austin flies away from me at his brother, and the two of them collide to the floor. Neither of them gets in any punches that I can see, but the coffee table cracks and splits in half. I can’t tell who crashed into it.

“Guys, really?” I ask, shifting on my feet, trying to follow their movement to see if I can intervene.

Diego scoops me up and spins me around. “I don’t think so, beautiful.”

I press my hands to his chest. “But someone will get hurt.”

Swiveling again, he shifts me out of the way as Austin and Kingston fly by.
